So this post below has been in DRAFT since June 22nd. My intention was to blog more on prayer and my wonderful wife. I'm going to post this too in it's unrefined and unfinished state. It ties in with https://www.thisismystoryjesusismysong.com/blog/thank-god-for-our-wives-and-lives and Dierks Bentley's song Woman, Amen.
I am alive today by the grace of God. There are several events in my life that provide evidence of God's grace. First off, I was an accident. Or rather, I was an unplanned child. I thank God often (certainly not often enough) that I was born. I thank God for my parents and the opportunity to be born. Someday there will be a future post related to this. But not today.
As I reflect upon my life, God's grace is evident once again when he brought Mandy, my wife, into my life. I truly believe that if she wasn't by my side, ceaselessly praying for me everyday, that I wouldn't be here typing this today. If I had continued on the path I was on in college and shortly there after, I could seriously see any of these outcomes having happened:
- I'd be living in solitude in the wilderness in the Rocky Mountains or Alaska and probably would've been eaten by a bear by now.
- Overdosed from cocaine in an effort during my periods hypomania to sleep even less than the 4-5 hours a nightly sleep I get during these times, in an effort to get everything I desire to get done and say yes to.
- Became a street bum, pan handler, hitchhiker, or train hobo after possibly experimenting with drugs and then getting murdered for crossing the wrong person.
- I'd be living a lost life of drunkenness and promiscuity and a slave to addictions
Amazing while on the way home from work the following two sermons were on the radio as I drove home: https://joncourson.com/playteaching/S628/
