Job

When life looks grim

I started a new job today. Hallelujah (https://youtu.be/awkO61T6i0k)!

But the title of the post isn't about a job, it's about Job. I believe Job's plight was drastically more difficult than what I may have recently gone through but never the less I felt hopeless. And worth less. Worthless. Truly sad. Depressed.

But I'm here! Still! Because of all the amazing people in my life. God used them to encourage me, support me, make me feel loved, and understand that I am wanted and needed.

I was going to write a super-duper long and elaborated post, but not anymore. If you'd like to hear more just reach out, I'd love to share. If you're feeling down, hopeless, worthless, depressed, thinking your worth more dead than alive, I've been in that valley (more than once). I'm here to listen. Not to judge, not to solve the situation, not to pity or try to brighten you up. Just here to listen as someone who most likely can relate. If you have questions I'm more than happy to answer them to the best of my abilities.

To those in my life, some of you may have picked up on my depression (if not don't feel bad, people are really good at hiding it) while others may not have had any idea. Your kindness, love, support, encouragement (without even knowing what I was going through) brings tears to my eyes.

Everyday, in every situation, we all have a choice, to be indignant or kind and compassionate. That saying is so true: "You never know what someone is going through so be kind." Thank you Jesus for those in my life. Please share a comment below, a simple "Thank you for sharing" is incredibly encouraging.

From a post several years ago: "The BEST paraphrased response people have said to me after I shared some of my story has been what my kind caring and compassionate coworker said: "Wow. Thank you for sharing that. That must take a lot of courage to be so open about it. I admire you being so transparent and being so vulnerable." So, if you're going to say anything, and you believe those words, I recommend saying something like that. At least that has been my experience."
